Founded on December 10, 1934, the city experienced a high rate of population and economic growth throughout the 20th century, initially supported by the planting and commercialization of coffee, what made Londrina earn the nickname “Capital of Coffee” during that period.
From the 1970s onwards, Londrina’s economic profile gradually changed, having evolved into an important and diversified regional industrial and economic center, until it became one of the main cities in the countryside of Brazil.
